Can Austin get more humane?
Emancipet is working to make Austin a 'no kill' city. They have secured a permanent location on Airport Boulevard with room for four vets that will perform low cost spay and neuter surgeries. They want to halve the number of animals Town Lake Animal Center receives each year, which now totals about 21,000. Town Lake can successfully place about 10,000 animals each year.
