The Return of Soulhat!

Before the ubiquity of the internet and cell phones, there was a time called the 90’s. (I am sure some of you remember them.) And ushering in that decade and waving the banner for the new Austin music scene was the funkified, rocked-out sound of a band called Soulhat. Led by guitarists Bill Cassis and Kevin McKinney (killer vocalist), with a solid, driving groove laid down by bassist Brian Walsh and former Funkadelic drummer “Frosty” Smith, Soulhat blew the roofs off of clubs across the country throughout the early and mid-nineties with their unique sound.

As the decade came to a close the band as we knew it broke up and went their separate ways, with several ‘reunion’ shows later played with various artists joining and leaving the band. But tonight, all of the original members are back together to help celebrate Antone’s 30th Anniversary. We are thrilled to see all of the guys back together after all these years and have no doubt they will rock Antone’s to its foundation tonight. Buy your tickets now, as this is one show that will most likely sell out, because a lot of people have been waiting quite some time for this blast down memory lane. Doors open at 9:30pm and Chili Cold Blood is set to open. See you there; we will be the ones shaking our ass up front into the wee hours of the morning. We think our oldest memories of Soulhat go back to a New Year's show in 1992, or was that Halloween? Time flies. Any memories you have of the force of nature that was and is Soulhat?
