Gimme My Money

We all are well aware of all the crazy things that can happen when you install new software. Well, unfortunately for some employees of the Austin school district, the installation of new software is going to affect their wallets. A "glitch" in the district's new payroll software has caused at least 75 of its employees to be overpaid for the 2004-05 school year.
You're probably thinking: "Wait, they got overpaid, that has got to be all good, right?"
Wrong. By law, the school district must retrieve any overpayment or it would be considered an illegal gift of public money. So the district wants their money back. The director of human resources said they are trying to contact employees affected and will work with them to establish repayment plans. They hope to get their money back by the end of the year.
