Like Peanut Butter and Jelly

Way back in 1995, Willie Nelson was visiting Jamaica with a few of his friends. After an afternoon of "taking in some local culture," Nelson had a vision. However, this vision had to wait until Willie ate a few plates of jerk chicken and took a long nap. Waking up refreshed, Willie remembered that he now had a mission -- he was to record a reggae album.
So what took Willie so long to release this album? Apparently his label at the time, Island Records, decided they didn't want to release it, so they shelved the project. But just a few years ago, Nelson's new label, Lost Highway Records, bought the master tapes and asked Willie to finish the album. "Highwayman" is a collection of originals, country covers, and reggae covers done as only the red-headed stranger can do.
The album is due in stores next Tuesday, but fans eager to hear Willie's latest can go to the Continental Club tomorrow as they host a listening party/happy hour that starts at 6:30. The event is free and you can enter to win a guitar autographed by Willie himself, and they will also have free Willie swag. Waterloo Records will be also be there giving away free lithographs with pre-orders.
