Three men who in 2002 pepper-sprayed, tasered, bound and gagged Andrew Vigil, which ultimately killed him by asphyxiation, were sentenced to 45 years each. The men, who are in their early twenties, were robbing Vigil's apartment. They will all serve half of their sentence before being considered for parole. [Source]

A South Austin resident received a suspicious package yesterday, causing the APD bomb squad to investigate. Neighbors weren't forced to evacuate, but were told to stay indoors. If they did leave, they were not allowed back into the neighborhood until later that night. Police are not saying what was in the package, but they admitted it's not explosives. Could it be?
