Genie Grants One Wish

Our car was scummy. Really, really scummy. The "Wash Me" note written in some kid’s handwriting had been covered by another layer of filth.
We were also 800 miles over on an oil change (2 for 2). The oil changer guy gave us a coupon for 1/2 off a car wash at Genie Car Wash. We took the hint.
Genie has a few locations, but we went to the one at 7320 Burnet, which is between Anderson and Koenig. We agree to getting our dog slobber-covered windows cleaned, our dashboard and steering wheel cleaned with Armor All and our car waxed for a mere $15.95. With the 1/2 off coupon, our car wash is only $5.49. For a total of just over $20, we don’t expect much. But the Genie proved us wrong.
We had enough dog hair in our back seat to make a whole other dog, and most of it was gone. We can see out of our windows. Our grayish car is now shinier than this guy’s grill . We’re impressed. True, anything would have been an improvement, but they did a better job than we could have done.
There’s some other stuff you should know about Genie. Their employees were friendly, from the cashier to the car cleaners. You can watch your car roll through the washer (fun for kids and semi-adults!) If it rains within 48 hours of your car wash, bring your receipt and they’ll give you another basic wash for $1. You can log onto their Web site, sign up for their Preferred Customer Club, and get an instant coupon for 1/2 off a car wash, and it says they’ll send you coupons later. They also have self-serve wash and vacuum stations.
Genie Car Washes are open everyday from 8-6. They have three locations, 7320 Burnet, 1311 S. Lamar, and 1021 William Cannon Drive.
