New Music Picks for the Week...

Brian Eno – Another Day on Earth
Eno’s latest is a departure from his usual ambient recordings. Instead he offers a record of more conventional songs filled with synths and vocal. Probably not for the Eno rookie, but it is nice to know that Eno can still mix it up after so many years.
Foo Fighters – In Your Honor
The FooFoos release a double album split between hard rockers and quieter acoustic jams. This brings some life back to the band after 3 releases that saw their sound get more stale and predictable.
Lungfish – Feral Hymns
You have to give credit to a band that has been around for 17 years and is credited for helping start the emo movement. Raw and powerful, this album reminds us of when that term meant something.
No Use for a Name – Keep Them Confused
Unlike a fine wine, some pop-punk bands get much worse with age. Fortunately NUFAN is still alive and kicking and releasing great records.
The Oranges Band – The World and Everything in It
Short and sweet pop songs to be played at your backyard pool party.
Pernice Brothers – Discover a Lovelier You
Super production and a solid batch of acoustic pop songs adds to the Pernice Bros.’ impressive catalog.
Ry Cooder – Chavez Ravine
Multi-talented producer/songwriter/guitarist Ry Cooder surpasses his ambitions of the Buena Vista Social Club with Chavez Ravine. Cooder returns to his hometown of Los Angeles and invites several East L.A. musicians to tell the story of a Mexican-American neighborhood and the stories and struggles it faced.
