A Piece of Downtown Boozing History To Be Auctioned Off

Apparently, the doors are closing on downtown booze-and-dance stalwart, The Copper Tank Brewery. Rumor has it that the owners of Ringers Sports Bar will be opening a new sports bar mecca at the 504 Trinity Location. In order to cut some of their losses, The Copper Tank will be holding a public auction at the bar this Saturday. The auction begins at 10am and goes until they get rid of everything or get tired trying. What could be better than walking away with some used utensils, a neon longhorn sign or a partially-stained couch? Looking at the list of items to be auctioned, you can almost smell the smoke and bad perfume, almost hear the ridiculous pre-molestation âpick-upâ lines and the thump-a-thump-thump of co-eds getting busy to the krunkest of dance tunes.
So before coming down , check out the list of items, you might be shocked to see the litany of things it takes to run a âsuccessfulâ bar. Hell, bring enough cash and you could probably open up your own bar â which, with the smoking ban lurking around a hot summer corner, might not be a bad idea.
We got dibs on the âsmall milk can.â What would you buyâŠand why?
