Indepedence Pub Crawl

Independence Brewing, one of Austin's many fine local breweries, is having its inaugural Pub Crawl tonight. This event gives you the chance to join the brewers and other faithful beer enthusiasts as they make their way through four different bars that feature Independence beer.
Here's a little walk-though of what you can expect at each venue.
The Ritz (320 E 6th St)
Crawlers will be meeting up at 7pm. Yes, that's early...but it's never too early to start drinking. The Ritz is a laid back joint, known for its pool tables, air hockey and foosball. We're told prizes will be handed out to anyone who can beat the Brewmasters from Independence at air-hockey. The Ritz is also extremely BMX-friendly (there is a bike rack just inside the door), making it very popular among riders.
Next stop:
Lovejoy's (604 Neches)
We'll spare you a long, drawn out explanation and just say this: Lovejoy's is a little slice of beer heaven. They have a very well-rounded line of commercial beers on tap, as well as a pool table, couches, wi-fi, and a friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to lend their expertise. Plus, where else can you work your way through Beer College (click the Fez image on their website for more details)?
Next Stop:
Side Bar (602 E. 7th St)
Side Bar, located just off Red River is one of our favorite stops to make if we're ever catching a show at Emo's or Beerland. Why? Because frankly, we have a slight desire to smash faces with crush on one of the lady-bartenders. What what? But also because it provides reasonably priced drinks for our reasonably soft livers. The space is pretty large and open and not that we mind when our bars are grimy, but Side Bar also boasts a very clean feel to it. Crowd tends to be an decent mix of Emo's-esque show-goers and folks who look like the just got off their blue-collar nine to five.
and lastly...
Headhunter's (720 Red River)
We've never been to Headhunter's, but we're told it has a very "tiki" feel to it. What we can tell you is that there always seems to be bands loading and unloading out front. If you can survive as a bar/music venue on Red River (where music reigns supreme on a nightly basis) you must be doing something right.
Anyone who completes 3 out of the 4 stops on the crawl will receive an Independence Freestyle Wheat pint glass.
So there you have it. Hope you have fun at the crawl, y'all.
