Get Ya Freak On (on a soon-to-be-famous couch): MTV’s "The Real World" Holding Garage Sale
For those of you who have watched MTV’s “The Real World” and ooh’d and aah’d at their lavish digs and fancy shmancy furnishings, this weekend presents you with the opportunity to get your grubby little hands on their hand-me-downs.
That swinging ‘modern’ pod chair where the first three housemates to arrive get all Pamela-and-Tommy Lee? It’s yours! The bumper pool table where some unwitting drunk co-ed loses her virginity in episode 4? Name your price! The track lighting that provides the ambience for the white-knuckle coming-out-of-the-closet-to-his-parents-via-video-phone scene in episode 6? Let it light up your reality for the right price! (Of course, none of these episodes are ‘real,’ but we can dream can we not?)
The freakishly voyeuristic-cum-consumerism event takes place at “The Real World’s” ‘loft.’ And don’t act like you don’t know where it is, folks. But, in case you are playing coy, it is located at 3rd and San Jacinto. Just follow the garish neon sign that reads “Austin.”
We are not quite sure what to expect, really. But it should be interesting to see what happens when people stop being polite and start getting really overheated to buy some reality-tv crap. We just imagine it will all be horribly overpriced; unless they somehow have one of those cute cartoon drawings of Judd’s from the “The Real World: San Francisco,” cause those are just priceless.
