Don't be a Friggin' Idiot...It's "Napoleon Dynamite" in the Park

This Thursday night offers your last chance to hang out with your neighbors and friends (and Austinist, of course) and watch a Movie in the Park. For its final cinematic event of the Spring, the Austin Parks Foundation brings you one of the funniest movies of the past year or two, “Napoleon Dynamite.” Festivities begin at 7pm in Republic Square Park (4th and Guadalupe) with a dance lesson cum dance competition to get everyone in the mood. So practice those moves and be prepared to bring it!

Bring chairs, blankets, your pups (or ligers) and whatever else you need to get comfortable, but keep the booze at home, cuz it ain’t legal. The good folks from Dog Almighty will be selling dogs (veggie and ‘meat’), sodas and popcorn. The movie will begin at dusk, but get there a little early to get your spot (and to get your dance on).

The inner-geek in us wonders,"What is your favorite Napoleon moment?"

I think the sweetest moment is when Napoleon finally trains his wild stallion to pose long enough for that painting by Jacques Louis David. Awesome.

my favorite napoleon moment (by far) was when he defeated the austrians at marengo. i guess following this would be when he had his marriage annulled in 1810 so he could remarry.
