End of an Ear, Start of an Era

Remember when Austin had more independently owned music stores than Chipotles? Yeah, we do too. This is why we were happy to hear that a new record shop, End Of An Ear, will be opening up right around the vacant space left by the late, great Escapist Bookstore.

Even though they aren't completely set up, End Of An Ear is expected to have a soft opening this weekend. This might mean cash-only purchases until they get their credit card machine working, but what's a little ATM fee when you're helping out a new, locally run business?

If you don't see a giant selection, have no fear. We're told that they are spending all summer building their inventory in an effort to feed your ears all the musical yumminess they can handle.

Tentative hours for the first month are as follows:
Mon - closed
Tues - Sat - noon to 8
Sun - noon to 6

There will be an opening party next Saturday, May 28th with Rubble playing.

End of an Ear
2209 C S.1st St
Austin, Tx 78704
