The Return of the G-Man

Finally, after years of playing sideman to many great Austin bands, Johnny Goudie is back in the spotlight where he belongs. Many of you still remember Johnny’s former band Goudie, who released two critically acclaimed albums, "Peep Show" (2000) and "Effects of Madness" (2002). Unfortunately, critical acclaim can only go so far, and Goudie disbanded while Johnny faded from the music scene.
Releasing a CD under the moniker I Love Elke, Johnny hit the clubs of Austin as a solo artist and released a few CDs of mostly acoustic demo cuts. Fans of Endochine know Johnny as he handled keyboard duties for a while, including an inspiring performance at ACL. But anyone who caught Johnny performing as a sideman could see the fire that still burned and knew that he would back.
That day has come. Johnny is releasing his first proper solo CD entitled "Boy in a Box" on May 17th through F + M Records. He will be having a dual-CD release party with Canvas on Saturday, May 14th at Antone’s. Doors open at 7:30 and the price at the door is $14.
