Knife Lovers Unite

There is a place on Burnet called the Knife Sharpist. It's a knife store. They deal with knives--kitchen knives to fantasy knives. No, we don't know what fantasy knives are, you'll have to ask them. Oh, and they also carry swords. Gotta love a place that stocks swords. I don't think you can get them at Wal Mart, you know.

We admire a mom and pop shop keeping the dream alive. Austin is full of them--the Light Bulb Shop, vacuum stores, even a place for rubber stamps.

This place offers knife throwing lessons. KNIFE THROWING LESSONS. Because apparently some of you have dreams of being Bill the Butcher or Clint Eastwood in Bronco Billy. Hey, that's cool with us. Whatever floats your boat, man. Can you practice on us? No you cannot.

That sounds freaking AWESOME. Austinist field trip!

Field trip! We can meet at the Draught House and then walk over for some knife throwing. Yeah!

The Knife Sharpist is also an awesome place to get your kitchen knives sharpened.

And don't get me started on the Light Bulb Shop. No matter what kind of wonky strange little bulb I bring in there to get replaced, they've got one. I love those guys.

You might want to stop by Capitol Rubber Stamp, too. They have a freakin' adorable dog that has free reign of the office. Plus, the backwards sign (like a stamp, get it?) is eye-catching and intriguing.
