Double your pleasure
Hard to believe it’s already May, but the calendar doesn’t lie. And what’dya know, this Thursday is not only First Thursday, it’s Cinco de Mayo. The Austinist knows it’s never to early to start making plans to party.
There’s going to be a weekend festival to commemorate Cinco de Mayo in Austin, and it will kick off on Thursday, with the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble playing on the Grace United Methodist Church’s lawn. The church is just east of S. Congress, so you can probably sip margaritas from afar while still enjoying music without feeling like a big sinner. Because the festival events change locations every day, the rest of the details get a bit, well, detailed, so click here to read more if you're interested.
If you’re not going to S. Congress for a double celebration, where will you be? El Arroyo’s on 5th for $.99 margaritas? Trudy’s or Chuy’s for martinis? If you tell us, be warned: we’re known to crash parties. We'll even let you buy us a tequila shot.
