Austinist loves early voting because one can usually avoid lines and the trouble of figuring out where you are supposed to vote. With early voting, you can go anywhere it is available.

vote for the ban. as stated before, i've been through this in nyc. that city is a perfect case study as nightlife was not affected. every smoker I know prefers the bars without the smoke.

Ubet: vote against the endorsements. Forget Lee Leffingwell; vote for Andrew Bucknall, a lifelong Austinite who isn't rich. Forget about anybody who has gone to the LBJ school; check out Jennifer Kim. And as to Betty Dunkerley, she really does work hard and really does read her e-mail, and no doubt will win, but why not vote for Wes Benedict, just to shake things up a bit. Make the freeloaders help pay for ACC; let the club-owners decide whether they want to be non-smoking or not and then abide by the decisions of the market. Here endeth today's advice.
