Barbeque, booze, music, and we get to bring our dogs? Count us in!
Tonight at the Green Mesquite BBQ, the folks of Dirty Dog Self-Serve Dogwash are putting on Music & Mutts, the first in a series of Spring shindigs for local dog lovers.
The no-cover event combines great barbeque, live music, and an opportunity to hang out with fellow Austin dog owners. Come bring your nicely behaved pooch and let 'em frolic with the other dogs while you enjoy a refreshing beer and listen to the musical meanderings of Austin's newest songstress, former Buffalo-NY-turned-Austinite Pamela Ryder. Austinist was just at the Green Mesquite this past weekend and we highly recommend the mesquite-smoked buffalo wings, complemented beautifully with a smooth Pyramid Hefenweizen.
Proceeds from this event help benefit Emancipet, a local nonprofit organization that seeks to eliminate animal euthenasia and overpopulation by providing very low-cost spaying and neutering services. Considering the fact that over 11,000 dogs and cats were put to sleep by Town Lake Animal Shelter last year, we think this is a great cause to support.
