Austin's Pizza, Now With Peaches
We have loved Austin's Pizza for a long, long time. We have forgone Gattis, Pizza Hut, even Mangia for one of those Farmer's Market Specialties. Yum. And they don't even deliver to us. We have to drive there. That is how much we love Austin's Pizza.
Hankering for a pie full of delicious veggies, we took a trip to the newest location on the drag, which is calling itself the "Varsity" bar. This is a whole different kind of Austin's Pizza. For one, it's got a lot of seating. Upstairs and downstairs seating. There is a huge mural on the wall representing Austin. There are a line of friendly workers to meet you at the high concrete counter. Landsakes, people, there is even organic coffee and gelato. Yes, gelato!

Because we love you, and we want you to know about these things, well, we tried the gelato. First we tried the Maui Coconut. Coconutty. Then on to the Chocolate Peanut Butter--a flavor that has never disappointed us. Okay, while we appreciate their gumption and interest in trying new things, we didn't find the gelato to be that great. Not even good, really. Actually, it tasted pretty old. And another thing, we aren't too certain that gelato is the kind of ice creamy treat that goes well with chunks. Especially if those chunks of peaches look old.
Old peaches.
But we did appreciate the mural. And the customer service was fawesome, as usual.
We heart Austin's Pizza. We do not heart Austin's Pizza Italian Style Ice Cream.
