Pass a good time
For a mere $8, you can go to a Mardi Gras meets SXSW event. Well, a very scaled down version of both celebrations, anyway.
The 12th Annual Louisiana Swamp Romp and Crawfish Festival kicks off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, around 4th and Guadalupe. Twenty different cooks will be serving up authentic Cajun food like alligator on a stick, boiled crawfish, and gumbo. We can feel ourselves getting fatter.
There’s two stages, but the times are spaced out so you can see everyone without missing much, if any, of a set. The Burden Brothers, who are headlining the event, go on at 11:30 p.m. Austin’s own Endochine plays right before them at 9:25 p.m.
The Austinist is currently having trouble accessing Roadstar Production’s Web site, and in the case that you are as well, the full line-up is available by clicking below.
On the Big Mamou Stage: Cedryl Ballou and the Zydeco Trendsetters at 10:45 a.m., Charles Thibodeaux and the Bayou Drifters at 12:55 p.m., Dikki Du and the Zydeco Crew at 3:05 p.m., Papa Grows Funk at 5:15 p.m., Geno Delafose and the French Rockin’ Boogie at 7 p.m., CC Adcock at 8:25 p.m., The Vanished at 10:20 p.m., and The Burden Brothers at 11:30 p.m.
On the Mystic Mardi Stage: Scott Birum at 11:50 a.m., Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas at 2 p.m., Dr. Zog at 4:10 p.m., The Inner City All-Star Brass Band at 6:20 p.m., and Endochine at 9:25 p.m.
