The New Half Price Books is the World's Largest

Okay, we are not certain it is the world's largest Half Price Books, but the month-old location on Lamar and Koenig sure feels that way, and it does claim to be the largest new and used bookstore in Central Texas. This new Half Price books is a roomier, more inviting location than that teeny tiny one on Guadalupe, which was cute, but we were kind of frustrated by being run over by over zealous booklovers. Those history buffs can be kinda pushy. And let's not even get into the fantasy fans.

In this new Half Price books you can browse with confidence. And we haven't even mentioned the comfortable chairs. Yes, chairs! Take that Malcolm Gladwell book (if you can find one) and have a seat, sir.

We do not have a thing for rare books, but if we did, boy would we be salivating. It looks big. And scary. Everything one could want in a rare books section, right?

Really, folks, it's all the things you love about Half Price Books times 2 or 3 or 4. Used books. New books. Stationary, even. And let's not forget the friendly staff--lots of old hippies and young punks. Stop on by, take a cup of the free coffee, pick up an old copy of In Style magazine and find yourself a comfy chair from which to people watch. We'll be in the the self-help section.
