Watch the ASCENDANCY! Ghostland Observatory at The Velvet Spade
"Every woman in the world wants a man who can move like that!"

This is just one of the many comments the Austinist, surrounded by starry-eyed women, heard about Aaron, the front man and one-half of the best thing to hit the Austin music scene in a good long time: Ghostland Observatory.
And that doesn't even address the music.
Few bands ever get have the capability to blend talent, hard work, and a maelstrom of furious passion into even one great song. How the Ghostland manages to put that into every song they play, we may never fully comprehend. Their blend of electronic beats mixed with guitar driven rock is designed to make people move. When you throw in Aaron's patented moves (seen here in 3gp phone-cam format), the crowd simply unable to hold still, drifting into the tribal movements of old. When they play "Shoot 'em Down!," we suspect they may have slipped in Cartman's infamous brown note, it is that-fucking-good people.
Were it not for the annoying New York hipster hold-over from SXSW, wearing an obnoxious afro and serving as a "representative" of Fischerspooner, who really wanted to feel like she ran the show (seen here in 3gp phone-cam format), the night would have been perfect. That and the wildly coked out LA girls. The coastal representation was, let's say, sub-par.
While this past Thursday's Fischerspooner CD release show at the Velvet Spade is, sadly, only a memory now, you can catch Ghostland's CD release party at the Ritz on Saturday April 23rd, and keep scanning Austinist for an upcoming interview with Ghostland boys.
Come out and see Aaron and Thomas aka Master of the beat, usher in the era of Ghostland Observatory.
The Austinist, as usual, will be in attendance.
