"Sin City" will Kick Your Ass...and You'll Like It!

sincity.jpg We played hooky on Friday to spend a little over two hours letting Robert Rodriguez, Mickey Rourke and Co. kick our ass in "Sin City."

Since we imagine many of you have not seen it, we won't give away too much. We will just say, get your ass to the movie theater and see it. Regardless of your taste in films, we feel you will walk away satisfied. Whether you enjoy or have never read graphic novels, whether you abhor violence in cinema, whether you think Bruce Willis is a tool of the highest order, it matters not. One can not walk away from this film without being overwhelmed by its visual brilliance, almost perfection, and the tour de force performance by Mickey Rourke: think Bukowski on steroids and mixing his vernacular with that of the street turf and a tongue-in-cheek wiseass of the twenties.

Rodriguez and Miller (along with a fine touch from Tarantino) have made a sublime masterpiece of violence, action, and comedy. We will be going back to "Sin City" soon. If there is a criticism, it may be that the film runs a tad long, but did we mention Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Brittney Murphy and a whole host of breathtaking women walk around in lingerie most of the film? Yea, an extra 10 minutes won't kill you.

Hmmm...maybe I would have considered it the last two times you wrote about it.

Hey, can't a bloke be proud of Austin and like a movie? More Sin City!

Yes, great movie!

I thought it was interesting that Alexis Bledel, who has become famous in a role that has her constantly gabbing with her mom on Gilmore Girls, would play a character that was similarly mom-dependent...
