Take Him and Cut Him Into Little Stars...

It has been a long and difficult week for some. As you may have heard Terry Schiavo passed away as well as Johnnie "If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit" Cochrane, while Jerry "Gays caused 9/11" Falwell was hospitalized and Pope "I'm the friggin' Pope" John Paul II struggled on his deathbed. In the midst of all this, you may have missed another great loss.

Minnesota-born comedian Mitch Hedberg died early Wednesday morning at the age of 37. Dubbed "The Next Seinfeld" Hedberg failed to achieve such high levels of celebrity but was well-respected and adored by many. Austinites may remember a small role we played in the Hedberg saga when he was arrested in Austin in May 2003 for possession of heroin. His cause of death has yet to be determinded but heart failure as a result of a heart defect is suspected.

For those of you who do not know his work or need help coping with this week we recommend checking out the hilarious, bizarre and absurd observations of Mitch Hedberg.

"Pickles are cucumbers that sold out." - M.H.

How right you were Mr. Hedberg, how right you were.

  • It's been a wild week: the bassist of Guitar Wolf also died of a heart attack, at only age 38.

I just recently watched "Billy" — as he was called — perform at SXSW with rebelliousness and vigor. Strange he's forever gone.
