The State Legislature passed a bill yesterday that names the Chuck Wagon the official vehicle of the state of Texas. Legislators point to the fact that the Chuck Wagon was one of the first vehicles in the state and that it represents the "pioneer spirit of the west."
Speaking of pioneer spirit, Senator Jeff Wentowrth (R-San Antonio) has also put forth legislation that would keep the University of Texas football team from playing in any Bowl Championship Series that is not a 16-team playoff. The Senate gave Wentworth unanimous approval to file the bill. And while legislators do not see the bill as eventually being passed, Wentworth believes it will be a step towards opening up further discussion of a system he feels is too complicated and unfair.
Well, finally, politicians getting down to what matters most. Screw the schools, screw health and public services...let's talk football and chuck wagons.
God Bless Texas!

I was convinced this was a joke. But I guess April Fool's isn't until tomorrow.
They're still debating over the state bread, though.
