Once upon a time, Hollywood television writer and producer Rob Thomas
lived and worked in Austin. He was a high school teacher and rock star wannabe. Then he wrote young adult novels (we are big fans of Rats Saw God), followed by snarky dialogue for Dawson's Creek (never fans of that) before making a big splash with Cupid--the short lived, but ultra-lovable dramedy starring the short-statured, but ultra-lovable Jeremy Piven.
Once upon a time when we considered ourselves aspiring television writers we sent Rob Thomas an email with a pitch. We think it was an awesome idea, but Mr. Thomas said no go, in very nice way, of course. And we still like him. Moreover, we want him to do well.
And now he's getting interviewed by Salon for that ultra trendy show Veronica Mars, which we can't claim we are fans of because we have never seen it--not all of us get UPN. But if you can see it, you should. Let's all do better to support our local celebrities, shall we? Who cares if Sahara is bad?
Note to Rob: A better haircut would suit you. We're just saying.
Veronica
Mars in on UPN Tuesdays at 8pm.

Um... a link to said Salon article might be in order, huh? ;-) Here ya go...
