Free Meat!

brisket.jpg Freddy's, a reasonably new restaurant on South 1st Street, is offering free, fresh brisket to visitors of their fine restaurant. The meat starts every night at 6 and goes til the giant hunk of smoked meat runs out. Freddy's is the newest addition to Austin's fine tradition of big backyard restaurants, where you can dine under the canopy of a bunch of old trees.

We suggest showing up during happy hour for their tasty and very strong $2 happy hour margaritas. The nacho plate is huge and very satisfying, and the wide variety of burger toppings (and burger fillings: beef, chicken, or veggie!) means that there's something for everyone.

The veggie burger is also really inexpensive. I want to say $5.
