Anyone who has been to SXSW before knows that you can easily suffer from band scheduling overload. Looking at today's schedule, there are a virtually uncountable number of bands, and that doesn't even include all of the day time showcases and unlisted events. What to do?
Austinist is here for you.
Every day for the rest of the week, we'll try to filter the day's choices down to a few hot picks. These aren't secret shows or the hot indie tip -- we're just going to list the bands that we want to see. All of these shows, unless otherwise noted, require a SXSW badge or wristband.
TONIGHT:
10PM
Mike Doughty (from Soul Coughing) at Buffalo Billiards.
11PM
The Thermals at Emo's
Enon at The Parish
The Donnas at Stubb's BBQ
12PM
Album Leaf at Emo's
Asobi Seksu at The Velvet Spade
1AM
Sleater-Kinney at Emo's

6pm pedro the lion at Ruta Maya (free) / 8pm tristeza at Eternal / 1am the wrens at The Parish
El Gato will 12:00 a.m. tonight at the Co-op Bar.
Friday at 6pm they play a free show at Waterloo.
The Talk will be playing at Sake on Sixth tonight at 10! Worth your while, believe me.
I mean The Talk is playing Habana Calle 6 on 6th st. so really really go check it out.
Enon is a must!
Clif at Cuddlefish has the run-down on all the afternoon chill-out. My two part series of recommendations are here and here. For tonight, I would suggest trying to cram into the Fox and Hound (Damnations, Derailers, Bottle Rockets... I know, the place sucks) and maybe trying to catch Billy Idol from outside the Stubb's fence at 1 am.
