Of course, Austinist chose this morning of all mornings to accidently set the alarm clock to PM instead of AM, only to find, waking three hours late, that we're all hottt and xxx-live on the Internet! Hello Austin! Welcome! Thank you for visiting!
First, we'd like to thank all the other sites in the Gothamist network for welcoming us and linking to our little slice of web pie. If you're ever in DC or LA or that weird little island, look them up. But why would you want to leave Austin? It is the greatest city in the world in which to live, and we will hear no arguments to the contrary. We fight with tooth and nail to stay here, even when our real job asks us to travel for cash.
Second, we'd like to reiterate that this is a site for and by Austinite's. If you've got something to say or an issue that needs attention, or especially if you've got a party that needs attendees, drop us an e-mail. We're all very friendly, and only bite when asked.
We're about to go down to the convention center and collect our SXSW badge. If you're on your way down there too, tackle us in the hallway and fondle our sexy bods! Either that, or say hi.

Ben! The About page still has Boston boilerplate:
"... so if you love Boston and want to write about it, send us an email." Just a heads-up, yo.
Hi Ari! Thanks for the tip!
Very happy you're (finally) here.
ben! you're an IST! one more reason to move to austin....
btw, this is a good thing.
Welcome to the ist family, from part of Chicagoist.
(And you might want to shorten up the "Real World" category name, as it's blowing the Google search box over the content.)
finally, an -ist.com for my favourite place in the south. You have to promise you'll give Mag's a so-so review but praise the Queso to high heavens. That's what I would do.
congrats man and welcome! i'm a former austinite (UT grad) working in nyc, so i dig both "-ists".
